Aquaman star Jason Momoa says Temuera Morrison inspired him to take up acting.
The two are working together on Aquaman, where Momoa plays the titular superhero and Morrison plays his father.
Momoa, best known as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones, posted a photo from the set of him sharing a hug with his Kiwi co-star.
In the caption, Momoa said he was meeting one of his “idols” and someone who inspired him to take up acting.

“I’m so honoured and proud to be working with Temuera Morrison. A true inspiration for me growing up trying to become an actor,” Momoa said.
The photo was tagged #jakethemuss, a reference to Morrison’s infamous role in Once Were Warriors.
Despite only pretending to be related, the love between Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa and his on screen father Temuera Morrison seems to be real.
Morrison will play the human father of Momoa’s Aquaman in the film. Aquaman’s backstory varies across different comic-book versions, but typically Morrison’s character is a lighthouse keeper who has a son with an outcast from the lost city of Atlantis.
Momoa will make his first appearance of the water-based superhero in Justice League, which is due later this year.
Aquaman is due to arrive on screens in 2018.
